The first four Serenity Tales.

1. THE BLACK
Author: Bill Mudron
The Story: A 28-page (!) story about young Malcolm Reynolds, his parents, and the first day to shape Mal's destiny.
Author bio: Bill Mudron is the creator of "Pan" and "Anne Frank Conquers the Moon Nazis." You can check out his portfolio at ExcelsiorStudios.net.
2. DROPOUT
Author: Neal Skorpen
The Story: Neal? "'Dropout' is how I imagine one pivotal step of Simon's journey into the criminal underworld -- and how the psychic academy might have started with benign intentions." An epic yarn in 15 pages.
Author bio: Neal is the man behind the print comic strip "Muddlemarch." You can visit him online at NealSkorpen.com.
Author: David Stroup
The Story: Mal holds open auditions for some replacement crew members.
Author Bio: David is the writer/artist behind "Yossarian" -- starring characters he's been drawing off and on for over two decades -- as well as the artist on "Jaxxon's 11," a comic spoofing the very worst of Marvel's 1970s "Star Wars" comics.
Authors: Annie Kallen (words), Elizabeth Hodgson (art)
The story: A one-page tale of fans with open arms. Annie Kallen, who posts as "Nywoe" to the PDX Browncoats Yahoo! group, says she "got the idea for 'What It Means' from someone who posts as 'bryce': He had that experience with the Florida Browncoats. So you might want to give a shout-out to him -- and to them -- for being cool folk." Artist Elizabeth is her sister.
Bonus feature: Annie also wrote a very lovely 10-page script that needs an artist. Drop us a line if you can help.
Amused by the image Joss Whedon popping up in the first comic.

Have to say - 'The Black' was quality far beyond what I was expecting. Good plotline, and superb artwork. Looking forward to seeing some more from Bill.
